Beauty backlash.

A doctor told me today that I have beautiful ovaries.

I was not an attractive child. For at least part of my pre-pubescence, I had horn-rimmed glasses, braces and a bowl haircut. It was the 60s and early 70s, but still.

When my mom told me that beauty is on the inside, I'm not sure that my ovaries are what she meant.

Oh, there you are. With a joke, no less.

Yeah, I was in hiding/mourning for a little while.

Humor is the only thing that gets me through times like these.

After all, when you think about it, reproduction is pretty darn funny.

Inner beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so if the beholder is a doctor then 'hey, lady, nice set of ovaries!' really is a compliment!
